God’s favour

In Genesis 37, we read of the story of Joseph and his relationship with his father. He made for him a coat of many colors, because of the love he had for him. His father loved him more than his brothers, because he had been born to him in his old age. This made his brothers angry. They hated him.

When God’s favor selects you, automatically the world will turn against you 1John 3:13. With his favor upon us, it means we have been delivered, protected, preserved, blessed and healed. He has taken care of everything we will ever need. He has provided every blessing, health, prosperity, peace of mind, joy and deliverance. He bought us with a price. He sent his only begotten son to set us apart John 3:16. To send his message to us about his love. For this reason, the world becomes our enemy. He says in John 15:18-21″… If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own, but because you are not of the world, I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you…”

Through the blood of the lamb that was shed on Calvary, God designed for us a Coat of many colors. One that separates us from the world. That makes us unique. A beautiful coat that makes us beautiful. Its beauty covers us from the filthiness of the world.

It’s this coat we received by the grace of God and his favor that makes the world to be in opposition to us. But we take heart in knowing that we are beautiful. Psalm 139: 13-14, we are wonderfully made and knit together. We have been transformed and renewed, Romans 12:1-2. We have been favored. We are loved. When we go through afflictions, we take comfort in knowing we have been favored by a powerful Creative God.
